The North Terminal International Departure Lounge formed the second strand of CCI's £4.2m partnership with Gatwick Airport, and presented its own unique opportunities to transform a busy, well-loved space. As with the South Terminal, our team picked up from the RIBA 3 concept stage and developed a fully integrated design solution — introducing timber panelling, feature planting, and media screens to modernise the look and feel of the lounge from the ground up.

Our scope focused on creating a more varied and welcoming environment for passengers, with expanded seating areas, more green spaces inspired by the West Sussex landscape, and a clearer sense of flow throughout. Gatwick's ambition was to genuinely improve the passenger experience through better navigation and contemporary facilities — and working alongside a locally sourced workforce over the two-year delivery programme, that's exactly what we helped them achieve.
